Congratulations to the South St. Burger Co.

Howdy!

The South St. Burger Co. just got a Special Recognition Award for Innovation in Energy from the Association of Retail Environments at GlobalShop in Las Vegas.

Johnny eh's in Peterborough goes all out on the social media

Howdy!

Their website is Wordpress, they're tweeting away, and they have their own YouTube channel. But I still doubt I'll be able to make it to Peterborough.

However, they do have videos!

Andy O'Brien touted The Works Gourmet Burger Bistro in the Ottawa Citizen back on St. Patrick's day (I know, I'm a little bit slow here, sorry).

Burgerville’s Chief Cultural Officer

Howdy!

I'm not certain I would be able to keep a straight face if I had to hand out business cards that read "Chief Cultural Officer."

Although judging by Burgerville's PR fluff they should talk to the guys from Smart Burger.

Rick and Carolyn's Burgers and Fries

Howdy!

For the next time you (or I) am in Abilene, Texas (personally, I'd go the the Buffalo Gap location).

Those wacky Belgians don't know jack about burgers

Howdy!

Pino Mario Catalano first, cooked himself a cheeseburger. Then made a short video about it and finally, wrote about it.

And while we're at...

Howdy!

Gotta thank candysweet434, while I was researching other burger scenes I came across their video condensing Good Burger to 9:57 minutes, which just might (hopefully) prevent me from ever having to watch it.

Burger Dating

Howdy!

I'm late to the party (apologies) but earlier this month, Tara, over at Midnight Poutine went on a first date to the Griffintown Cafe. I'm not certain if it was a successful date, as it was the second first date she went on (number one is here, and now she's on number three), but according to her, their burger is "one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had."

Foodaphilia does iBurger

Howdy!

Gotta love it when others start reviewing local burger joints. In a nutshell, there's not much difference between the Kobe beef burger and the regular beef burger. The pizza is delicious, and it costs $130 for four people. Thanks Foodaphilia!

The aesthetic experience and the burger

Howdy!

Over at Ratsdeville Ianik Marcil complains about economists impinging on his turf. But one of the most fun things you can do with whining an essay like this is to put it through a machine translation.

Sentences like Mais l'Art, le vrai, le grand, le transcendant? become But Art, truth, the great, the transcendent? and La consommation d'un hamburger comble un de mes besoins, la contemplation d'une œuvre d'art, non: elle me transforme, elle transforme mon regard sur le monde. becomes Consumption of a hamburger fills one of my needs, the contemplation of a work of art, no, she turns, she turns my world view.

If you don't quite understand my fascination with art and hamburgers, try this, Zeke's Alternate Art #%^$#@! a different blog that I edit.

RestoTube goes to Picks

Howdy!

And don't say a darn word about it...

Slow service at a Burger King in Drummondville

Economic Analysis

Howdy!

Back at the beginning of the month, farmers in Manitoba were getting slightly more than $900 for each steer sold. Or more succinctly, about $1.30/lb. Needless to say, once it is ready to be cooked, it's slightly more expensive.

If you want more detailed analysis, try the Canadian Feedlot and Cattle

. Only $200/month.

Teenagers goofing around at m:brger Toronto

Howdy!

A couple of points:
+ Posing with the owner that way doesn't instill a strong sense of objectivity.
+ Why would you look a the wine menu and then drink martinis and beer?
+ Someone who eats their burger with a knife and fork is obviously from Toronto.
+ That veggie burger is about as homemade as the table.
+ Chili doesn't have beans.
+ Back-lighting your subjects is never good.

I haven't been keeping up with Bob's Burgers

Howdy!

Lauren Bratslavsky reminded me that I should watch it more often.

A Five Guys opens in Toronto and it's news

Howdy!

Doesn't anybody care about real news these days? Toronto Life falls for the schtick (and it's not even in Toronto proper, it's Mississauga!).

Blondie's in Winnipeg gets the YouTube Treatment

Howdy!

A Burger King closes in Toronto and it's News

Howdy!

This one appeared in the Globe and Mail on the weekend. Overheard in the Globe & Mail newsroom: Hmmm, Libyan Civil War, Japanese Disaster, Potential Election... Hey! I know what's really news!! A Burger King closing!!

Fuddruckers makes it to Canada and it's news in Saskatoon

Howdy!

Last year it was Five Guys, and this year it's Fuddruckers. It appears that Canada is being invaded by Upscale American Hamburger Chains (in comparison to the Quick Serve variety like Harvey's, Wendy's and McDonald's). I've even heard that Cheeburger Cheeburger is coming to Montreal.

But let's hope that it doesn't doesn't make the news, like it did in Saskatoon.

Congrats to Mr. Lew

Howdy!

He got his Great Burger Search on tumblr up to date.

And Still More on Canada Steak Burger

Howdy!

Back in November I posted about Canada Steak Burger, not once, but twice.

Well, it looks like the third time's a charm, as they now have a YouTube Video as well.

MP3 17MB / FLAC 129MB / Ogg Vorbis 9MB / Stream)
(or play it here)

Good day and welcome to episode 95 of the Montreal Burger Report. In last week's episode your heroes Chris 'Zeke' Hand and Ryk 'E Coli' Edelstein ordered their burgers at the Montreal Hamburger Institution known as La Paryse (two specials and a double) and it appears that they are just about ready.

The Double at La Paryse

It took 13:34.922 minutes for the burgers to arrive. In comparison, it took 1:24.543 minutes to get seated (Zeke and E Coli were there at 3 o'clock on a Sunday afternoon). 6:50.865 minutes for the waiter to take the order, 6:43.697 minutes for the lemonade and coca cola to arrive and finally a full 10:57.824 minutes for the wine to arrive. E Coli then decides to describe The Special, and then goes all analytical.

The Special at La Paryse
