Obviously, I'm too old (or too something) but I was completely out of the loop when Mattel's Food Fighters action figures were around. But jeez! I would have loved to have been around at the meetings when they were coming up with the idea. More details on them here, here, here, and here.

And only eats one bacon cheeseburger (The Palace Burger Royale, and does anyone know what "nearly traditional accompaniments" are?
But you couldn't pay me enough to eat those Cheeseburger Doritos (which might have been extremely stale if you read between the lines of this Facebook Page).

Linda Extra Pickles Besner explains the evolution of her burger consumption from McDonald's and Harvey's through her vegetarian phase to where it is currently, rare with cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and relish. Zeke explains how his path has gone in the opposite direction towards a plainer more austere burger. Our hero and heroine briefly discuss the food issue of the New Yorker. And then Zeke tries to sound all authoritative by making up some nonsense about what the law is with regards to a hamburger being cooked in Montreal.

Five Guys Burgers and Fries coming soon to a Montreal suburb
Howdy!
From Craigslist, it appears that Five Guys is hiring. The ads says they are going to be located in Vaudreuil. I do not know exactly where, but I will endeavor to find out.
And for those of you that have been out of the loop, Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a relatively new chain, having been started in 1986, but they get good press. Most recently they beat out 15 other American Hamburger Chain restaurants to be crowned Winner of the Chain Burger Tournament over at A Hamburger Today.

Burgers going gourmet in Halifax
Howdy!
Looks like Halifax has moved uptown. Bill Spur writes in last Saturday's Chronicle Herald about the hamburgers you can get at The Brooklyn Wharehouse, Fid Resto, The Tin Pan Bakery & Bistro and Cheachie's Grill, where they grind hanger, brisket and eye of round in house to make their hamburgers.

What I might consider the first set of ugly (yet still interesting) pictures of cheeseburgers we've posted. The first one is from a Burger King in Japan, the Caviar Burger and one one with Bleu [sic] Cheese should be self-explanatory, and notice how neither slice of cheese on the Prime Rib Burger is melted to go along with the whole wheat bun - can you say "cold cardboard?" But for whatever reason, they are all noteworthy in a three-headed goat sort of way.[caption id="attachment_1300" align="alignnone" width="550" caption="漢堡王,七層犇堡 photo by Mr.adai"][/caption]
