More on Canada Steak Burger

Howdy!

This time ex-pat Erin Jackson writes glowingly about Canada Steak Burger in San Diego on A Hamburger Today.

Last week Ann's Snack Bar in Atlanta got a big write up in last week's NYTimes, because its owner, Ann Price, has decided she wants to sell the joint.

The accompanying video is very nice.

Happy (belated) Birthday to Burger Conquest

Howdy!

I missed it the first time around, but thankfully on the internet everything is always available so I was able to play catch up.

Congrats to Burger Conquest on their anniversary. In comparison to Rev's "294 Burgers eaten." I've only done 32 (in 16 restaurants) but there have been 4,920 downloads of the Montreal Burger Report as of last week.

How long until the trend hits Quebec?

Howdy!

Since pretty much forever, The Meers Store in Oklahoma has been serving hamburgers made from cattle raised (and I presume butchered) on their own ranch. Now I hear of this place, called Farm Burger in Georgia that is doing the same thing.

Right now there are five new hamburger joints that have opened up, or are opening up in Montreal. And that number seems to only get larger as more time passes. So how long until some entrepreneur decides to combine ranch and restaurant here?

Personally, it can't happen soon enough.

L'Épicerie on Fast Food hamburgers

Howdy!

L'épicerie - Hamburger
envoyé par radio-canada. - Plus de trucs et astuces en vidéo.

L'Épicerie wastes a lot of money and time telling you what I can tell you way quicker and cheaper. The bigger, fancier and more expensive hamburgers at fast food restaurants have more calories, fat and salt than the regular ones, and don't taste all that better.

And why would they think that a nutritionist and the guy who wants to immerse you in the lost era of New France would be knowledgeable in hamburgers?

Upscale Burgers in LA and Montreal

Howdy!

Over at the Zagat Blog they enumerated on some expensive burgers in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Which got me thinking about not cheap burgers here in Montreal.
And I'm certain I missed a bunch as well.

That ain't no hamburger...

En hommage à l'immense cool attitude de Big " The Dude" Lebowski ;-)

There are so many things wrong with this that it is almost like Siamese twin pigs with wings - you can't help but watch. And on top of it, I love seeing Quebecois tributes to American culture. They miss spectacularly, but in such a way that you have to smile.

Initially done for En forme après 40 ans back in September, it needs to be seen by more people.

Consumer Reports on the difference in the US between Ground Beef, Hamburger and Beef patties

Howdy!

It is explained rather succinctly right here. One of the main reasons why I try to only eat ground beef that has been ground the same day as I eat it.
